Atlantic City hotels – Economy pressure is Everywhere

It has almost been twenty years that the Atlantic City has got in to the development mode. This was possible due to the casino gambling success & popularity in the whole city.

There are several reasons behind this city tuning in to gambling. One of the main reasons is the in creased competition that made it really difficult to survive. Another reason is the future of the city fill with uncertain growth prospects or even stagnation.

The New Jersey economy enjoyed more than a million dollars earnings and produced good amount of tax revenue. It also created many jobs for the city residents. The casino industry could not provide the city, the kind of fame it actually deserved due to the casino control act. Here is a closer look at some of the reasons on the what is happening in the city & how long it is going to stay.

Atlantic City has not been successful in reaping the benefits it deserves in spite of the 70 per cent contribution to tax. The casinos in the city employ more than thousand of people who have lower wages. A study has also revealed that most hotels in the city offer low remuneration packages.

It is true that the city is providing all the requisite resources for the city’s development. It has also come up with more than thousands of jobs with moderate income. This has provided several tax benefits to New Jersey via revenues collected from the casinos & the revenue from gambling and entertainment taxes. The revenues collected from Atlantic City is just next to the world famous Las Vegas. So, what is the reason that the strong that the strong cash flow has not given the city strong economy?

There are several reasons behind this such as political errors and the economic pressure the whole world is suffering from. There are also some disputes between Atlantic City hotels, the new jersey state and Atlantic county related to social degeneration and poor infrastructure of the community.

About 2 per cent if the gross revenue from casino profits was supposed to be provided to the state of New Jersey for Atlantic City redevelopment according to the New Jersey casino control act. The funds were allotted for development. However, the state decided to use the money only for casino and hotels of the city. It thought that the casino and hotel industry development would be enough for the city’s well being and economy growth.

Nothing was done to enhance the infrastructure & housing requirement of the city. This leads in to mortgage crisis and stow down in the city.

If done property, the casino development would definitely work towards enhancing the economic conditions of the state. In the recent past, more than five hundred casino employees have be given voluntary retirement in Atlantic City including other game jurisdictions.

The busier for casinos, shows, resorts and hotels are facing decline. Will Atlantic City manage to survive this downfall and emerge out as a winner?
